- To protect our Services. We may process your information as part of our efforts to keep our Services safe and secure, including fraud monitoring and prevention.
- To evaluate and improve our Services, products, marketing, and your experience. We may process your information when we believe it is necessary to identify usage trends, determine the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns, and to evaluate and improve our Services, products, marketing, and your experience.

- To comply with our legal obligations. We may process your information to comply with our legal obligations, respond to legal requests, and exercise, establish, or defend our legal rights.
3. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
In Short: We may share information in specific situations described in this section and/or with the following third parties.
Third-Party Service Providers (Data Processors). We share your data with the following third-party service providers that process data on our behalf:
- Supabase (supabase.com) — provides authentication, database storage, and file storage. All user account data, profile and preference data, messages, photos, and reports are stored on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase's Privacy Policy applies to their processing of your data.
- Expo / EAS (expo.dev) — provides app build and delivery infrastructure. Expo/EAS may collect crash reports and performance diagnostics as part of their service. Expo's Privacy Policy applies to their processing of your data.
We may also need to share your personal information in the following situations:
- Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
- Other Users. When you share personal information (for example, by posting messages, contributing photos, or other content to the Services) or otherwise interact with public areas of the Services, such personal information may be viewed by other users. Similarly, other users will be able to view descriptions of your activity, communicate with you within our Services, and view your profile. Approved dish photos become publicly visible within the app.
4. USER-GENERATED CONTENT AND CONTENT MODERATION
In Short: Nibble includes messaging and photo features. We moderate this content — including through automated scanning — to keep the community safe.
Messages and Chat. Users can send messages in 1-on-1 direct messages and group chats. All messages are stored server-side on Supabase infrastructure in plaintext. By using these features you acknowledge that your messages are stored and may be reviewed by administrators in connection with a user report or automated flag.
Reporting and Blocking.
- Users can report other users or specific messages to administrators by submitting a written note and optional screenshots. Reports are stored and reviewed by our administrative team.
- When you block another user, a report is automatically generated and sent to administrators. Blocked users' messages are hidden from your view.
Automated Content Scanning and Message-Context Capture. The app runs an automated scan on outgoing group chat messages to detect prohibited slurs. If a prohibited slur is detected in a message:
- A user report is automatically created without any human reporter (the reporter ID is null).
- Up to six surrounding messages (message context) are automatically captured and stored as part of the report to assist administrators in reviewing the incident.
- The sender is not notified when an automated report is created. The captured message context is stored and visible only to administrators.
By using the group chat features, you acknowledge that your messages may be subject to automated scanning and that context messages may be captured and reviewed if a prohibited term is detected.
Administrative Enforcement. Administrators review pending reports and may take enforcement action including issuing warnings, temporarily suspending accounts, or permanently banning accounts that violate our Terms of Service.
Dish Photos. Photos submitted for dish review are held on Supabase Storage pending administrator approval. Approved photos become publicly visible within the app and may be attributed to your username if you selected photo credit.
5. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice unless otherwise required by law.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements).
Account Deletion by User. You may delete your account at any time from within the app (Profile → Settings → Delete Account) or by contacting us at support@pandabyte.dev. Upon a user-initiated deletion request, we will deactivate and delete your account and personal information from our active databases. We may retain certain information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with investigations, enforce our legal terms, or comply with applicable legal requirements.
Account Deletion Following a Ban. When an account is permanently banned for violating our Terms of Service: your username is released and made available to other users after 14 days; and the full account record is permanently deleted from our systems after 30 days.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
6. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. Passwords are hashed by Supabase Auth and never stored in plaintext. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.
7. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?
In Short: Nibble is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Nibble is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. It is designed for use by UCLA students and is not directed at, or intended for use by, children. We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 13 years of age, nor do we knowingly sell such personal information.
By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age, or that you are the parent or guardian of a minor and consent to such minor's use of the Services. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete that information from our systems. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at support@pandabyte.dev.
8. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?
In Short: You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time, depending on your country, province, or state of residence.
Withdrawing your consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, which may be express and/or implied consent depending on the applicable law, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section "HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?" below.
However, please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.
Account Information
If you would at any time like to review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can:
- Log in to your account settings and update your user account.
- Delete your account directly from within the app (Profile → Settings → Delete Account).
- Request data export or deletion by contacting us at support@pandabyte.dev.
Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. However, we may retain some information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our legal terms and/or comply with applicable legal requirements. Please see Section 5 for retention timelines that apply to banned accounts.
9. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.
California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.
10. DO UNITED STATES RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?
In Short: If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Virginia, you may have the right to request access to and receive details about the personal information we maintain about you and how we have processed it, correct inaccuracies, get a copy of, or delete your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal information. These rights may be limited in some circumstances by applicable law.
